Design sketch of a merman loosely styled after an orca, with a white stripe over the front from jaw to tail and dark teal for the rest of the skin. Salma is a bit of a "lone wolf" of a merman, often found fishing or just wandering the waters by his lonesome. He's quieter and less flashy than most of his compatriots, but still enjoys a bit of fashion (he particularly likes his tattoos) and sometimes sings when he thinks nobody is listening.

One day while fishing, Salma encountered Miriel, who was similarly in the process of fishing by herself. The two decided to collaborate and quickly fell in love. Salma's first appearance was in these Valentine's Day sketches:

Relationships

  • Miriel: romance. Met while fishing, found they had matching personalities with a mutual love for adventure. They're often seen on beach dates and coastline hikes together. Both are independent souls whose paths often diverge (there are limits to where an aquatic nomad and a terrestrial one can wander together after all), but they always gravitate back to each other.
  • The rest unclear at the moment. Likely knows Aava, given they live near each other and Aava is friends with Miriel.
